Vanessa Varjian is an observational painter living and working in Brookfield, Massachusetts. She draws inspiration from the landscape as well as the fruits and flowers that come from it. She paints in acrylics and oils over an absorbent ground to create a sense of light through transparency. Depth is created through varied marks such as glazes, small, repetivive brushstrokes, and impasto painting. Much of the inspiration for her art has developed through working with her hands outdoors and observing seasonal changes.
